I used to love Clerks when I was a teenager, but after rewatching it as an adult (along with a few other Kevin Smith movies), I feel like I outgrew it. It’s edgy and the characters have good chemistry and was shot well, but end of the day, kinda just juvenile and the dialog pretentious. I get why it was criticized as such.

This is part of my top 3 war movies. I’ve heard it criticized as “artsy,” but it is and it’s great.

150% on real parm.

I’d also argue for getting whole chickens (and spring for the nicer ones too). Roast it, pull off the breasts and eat those, eat the drumsticks if you enjoy them, or use the entire rest of the carcass for making really good stock.

Yep. Read “Extra Virginity” and you’ll likely never buy imported EVO again.

Not getting into politics here, but regardless of which side of the aisle you sit on if you’re in the US, it’s time to reach out to your congresspeople to advocate for protecting the forest service and BLM land that you care about keeping open (and preventing business and developer interests out of it). The site I fly at the most (Marshall/Crestline in Southern California), access to multiple launches in the Owens Valley, and several others are all potentially up for grabs.

I had the same experience. First protest I’ve been to and besides one dude that drove by flipping everyone off and one crazy old dude with a “dems are pedos” sign (yes, with what’s happening in South Carolina literally right now, the irony was lost on this person), a very positive mood all around. Loads of folks driving by, waving and honking horns, some kids in attendance, and everybody getting along very well in support of a common cause.

Can also chime in on Bosch. Knock on wood, never any issues and no “talk to your dishes from your smartphone” IoT bullshit.

Yup. He and Ben Affleck are movie killers for me. If I see them on the trailer, I know it’s a movie I should just avoid.

Excellent common-sense approach to first aid in a PG setting.

I had a concertina bag whose zipper stopped working one day. Tried out the fix in this video which only took a few seconds, and that concertina bag has kept on ticking for the past 2 years without issue.

Another great video from dynamoid.

Moving the /freeflight community over here from Lemm.ee, since that instance is shutting down. I hope to see more involvement here!

They are an excellent addition to any compost bin.

I kid (not a huge fan when celery is out with other things but don’t mind it on its own). Definitely gotta have it in a Bloody Mary / Bloody Caesar though.
