Nice to find another woman on the Fediverse. Usually I don't mind male-dominated environments as long as nobody treats me badly once they know I'm female, but the small amount of participants in [email protected] and [email protected] (both communities for games that are aimed at women) makes me wish for more women here. Meanwhile the gender-neutral [email protected] attracted a lot more attention.

Hey, just clicked on something in this series of posts for the first time. Genuinely, thanks for your effort in writing it. I usually see link posts, and I have missed big original writeups like this. We need more people like you on Lemmy.

Re: slowdown, I use Lemmy exclusively via browser and it's a very smooth experience for me ;)

]ANYWAY, to the point, I really enjoyed this video from Fastminer07 on YouTube, it was clear and reiterates how important this is. Worth a look if you’re searching for interseting videos for your down-time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Ih__mE05c)

Might want to turn that first bracket to be an opening bracket so the link works.

I'm not a perfect being so I use Steam out of convenience instead of GOG, though I do have a GOG account. I am pleased to see good news from them and that they are maintaining a good library of games. It is nice to see the option that I think people choose in an effort to be anti-DRM and to support games preservation doing well.

I should probably look into the Switch emulator thing more, sounds ripe for an original [email protected] post.

politicsI guarantee Musk chose DOGE as the name to seem like some cutting edge internet maverick making a throwback to the meme, but it just… It doesn't feel appropriately playful, like the actual CAN-SPAM act from the US government before he came around. It feels incredibly illegitimate, "stop trying to be cool," and that's putting aside any personal political beliefs I have about how it actually is an illegitimate department.

I'm not sure why that got included in a gaming news post, though, to be honest politics is stressful. I do keep up to date, but having it show up in a gaming newsletter when it is not directly connected to gaming, even in what seems to be an agreement with my views, does not feel awesome. And no, it's not an "ew politics" because it does not affect me, I stand to be very affected. I just have to be incredibly disciplined about my intake of political content to not be constantly stressed and dooming and scrolling nowadays, especially given how I stand to be affected, and reminders outside of Politics Time make me unhappy.

Of course, it is your post in the end and you provided a lot of wonderful content :P I usually just make basic link or image posts or ask simple questions, I'm no creator.

Recently picked up shapez.io again, part of the [email protected] genre. Just started that community. Also currently playing [email protected] (which at least one person on Lemmy mistook for a waifubait anime gacha game with straight male gaze fanservice going off the community icon, which I think earned it a bunch of downvotes when promoted in [email protected]. When to be honest, it is the opposite: still an open world gacha game, but marketed at women. No romance featured, no sexualized fanservice, but a lot of pretty outfits to dress up in with nice hair and dress physics), [email protected], and Antimatter Dimensions which is in the [email protected] genre. I have several [email protected] that I kind of just stopped midway through even though they were enjoyable; likewise with the [email protected] Dragon Age: Origins. I enjoy the above listed genres and games, as well as [email protected], [email protected] or management games, and [email protected] games. There are other games I enjoy too but this is sort of turning into my subscribed communities list, and I'm not currently playing them right now 😅 I game on Linux (PC only, not in the market for a console, however Steam trying to sell the Steam Deck and then doing the whole Proton thing to try to make more games compatible with their Linux-based console means that suddenly a lot more games are playable on Linux so I'm grateful for that), iOS, and MacOS. Lutris has been very helpful for finding different emulators on Linux.

For transparency, I mod [email protected] and [email protected] but not the rest, and I want to help the other Fediverse communities I listed grow. I like those genres but am not super knowledgeable about any of them and like seeing recommendations and discussion about them.

If you actually do enjoy this genre and want some unironic takes (and no, they are not all dating sims or erotica) take a look at [email protected]! Also related is [email protected], a VN subgenre: dating sims aimed at women with male love interests. For transparency, I mod the second one but not the first.

Loading screen: Gem hat Momo :/ Song is catchy though.

Outfits: I like the hair of the Floating Blossoms outfit (Fresh one) especially if we pretend it is a bun and not a braid, which we can if we just view from the front. Fruity Wish is the one I like best from this update (black dress). I'd like the dress if it did not have that apple pattern and the whole fit a lot more without the polka dots. This update's outfits (including the banner ones) really aren't my speed, and that's okay.

The one thing I will say is that being able to transform into this little plushie thing with Crimson Rhapsody and fool Esselings unless you touch them is so cool. It checks out really, you look kind of like a little toy creature thing like them. Not pulling for it though.

Quests: Mostly self-contained in a few areas, nice for people like me who want to just get through quickly. Illusion Zone looks so cool. I remember doing the dancing minigame with some Pieceys, and appreciate that the version for this event has a much more forgiving bar for getting Perfect, especially since it lagged on me a bit at one point which impacted my score.

Wasn't expecting…special guest Nonoy, or her song to have what sounds like kids learning to count while if I recall correctly the others don't have that.

One quest had you use the violin outfit and it really makes me wish that we could use the other music outfits in place of it. The game gives all of the ones I have at least (Dizi, Pipa, both from Chinese New Year event) the same controls as the violin outfit. Two lines of do re mi fa so la ti, so it should be interchangeable. I've done a lot of concerts where I had to wear some nice formal black and white outfits and oh boy would I not wear that violin outfit to them, so many expectations and so disappointed. Yes, still complaining about that main story outfit lol.

I like the Carnival in Frames thing where you take pictures at certain places, with us taking pictures at places relevant to this update. Sort of feels like the Expedition Handbook.

And of course, I just mashed through story as usual lol

New outfits, new quests, new loading screen…

I played the first one for awhile on iOS. Got hooked till I hit endgame and ran out of things to do. 2 looks like there is more stuff to do, might check it out.

I was going to skip this based on graphics but the review sounds interesting… might check out some playthroughs online or just ask my friend to stream it.

nevermind there is a demo, oops

lemmy.ca seems to be the 6th biggest server while ani.social is 33rd, so whoever created this community on lemmy.ca is actually contributing more to centralization than they would if they put it on ani.social if you're looking at just instance size. It might be decentralization when it comes to spreading topics around: I understand not wanting all your anime eggs in one basket in case something happens to ani.social, although I myself am a huge fan of the topic-specific instance model.

Left a save of the game totally unprogressed for awhile now because I randomly decided to use that save as a testing guinea pig for a mod I'm making, and right now I'm testing a particular event. I should probably just progress and use a different save I am not actually trying to play as the testing guinea pig.

spoiler

Also, while I’m on a rant, it should be “golfers” without the apostrophe

It feels good that someone else caught that too. And yeah, that's the worst when even looking at the surrounding brackets does not help you disambiguate between two possible answers. I was just lucky that "yell" is something I personally use and see more often than "shout".

Also, I don't play in Hard Mode specifically because I might make typos and don't want to be penalized for making a typo and hitting backspace and fixing it before I submit. Does Hard Mode actually count each individual keystroke and so I'd get penalized for mistyping, recognizing it, and fixing before submitting?

If you check the wiki or just trust the random stranger on the internet you'll find it is indeed a storyline in game!

Alex's page, forget where it is tbh

George's page, check Quotes

I think https://tvtropes.org/ will also back me up on this.

The transcriptionist/arranger also provided a Google Drive link to a PDF. As a transcriptionist who works with MuseScore myself, I can tell they put a ton of effort into making the playback sound just like the 1.3 loading screen rendition.

Just curious. I see [email protected] has lots of activity and [email protected] has none, and it also made me wonder about allowed content in CRPG.

I originally joined the place because I could not find anywhere else to discuss the game. First impression was it being a place full of nice people who liked the game!

Now I see several conversations several different days of people speaking cruelly and condescendingly to each other over varying opinions on Infinity Nikki being a gacha game. Happens daily. I understand having strong opinions on it, on wanting to enjoy a fun high quality girly game for once, on concern over predatory gacha mechanics, but people go from that to namecalling and just plain mean behavior. Of course, not everyone in the Discord gets vitriolic, but it is frustrating seeing this argument rehashed daily.

If this meme is also too bitchy feel free to nuke it, no resentment will be had here if you do it. In the end I'm posting about a place that won't see it (because I'm not actually allowed to advertise other communities. I got a post removed and warned for—no advertising intended—linking a Lemmy post that answered someone's question in the server), and that's not always the kindest move. I understand wanting to keep this a positive place and if this does not fit the bill…

This mod has gotten enough publicity that someone wrote an article about it, which is how it came to my attention. Thought people here might find it interesting that it's popular enough to get people trying to put some of its characters in another game with a whole mod, in more than just appearance but making a whole new NPC.

Even if you don't play Baldur's Gate, it seems to be a pretty big mod, and people putting effort into modding Stardew is pretty good news for the game.
