Until there's an alternative process for creating hydrogen that doesn't use petroleum bi-products and steam, this whole topic and community is just bs greenwashing.

There is an alternative process. It is electrolysis of water.
Which uses more energy than is returned by the created hydrogen.
Which is missing the point. You can turn intermittent wind and solar energy into a useful fuel instead of forcing the grid to deal with them. The whole system is a massive energy positive.
