Probably the hyper-partisan political groups that will delete comments and ban you if you correct their false statements. Echo chambers are immensely dangerous.

They existed on both sides of the spectrum, but lets be honest the ones that were trying to defend nazi "protesters" were the worst.

Fuck nazis. Fuck conservative apologists. Fuck trump and desantis nazi supporters. Fuck racism. Fuck homophobia. Fuck religion. Fuck catholic rapist priests. Fuck anti choice β€œban abortions”.

Fuck people taking personal choice away. Cunts.

This is exactly what happened to /r/libertarian. It used to have great, lighly moderated content where people of most political affiliations could discuss topics and current events, but then it got taken over by mises caucus fucksticks. Then it became into a right libertarian/alt right hellscspe. I was banned shortly after. Lame.

More than particular subreddits, there are some general things I hope don't make it here. I don't miss dumb joke comments being voted to the top of threads, burying the comments that actually attempt to answer OPs comments. Maybe Lemmy could implement a feature for OP to pin the most helpful response.

Let's hope something like TheRedPill or JordanPeterson never takes off on Lemmy (who am i kidding)

AnarchyChess got lame after a while. We can do better.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

anarchychess had a good meme for one day. and milked for months. so boring

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would say a lot of political meme circlejerk subs, but I feel like I'm talking too soon because it's only a matter of time before some of them appear over here

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

whats so bad about them? are you telling me that places like politicalcompassmemes were just a horde of 14 year olds with zero political understanding?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I mostly enjoyed politicalcompassmemes, but there were a lot that were just low-effort screenshot of a mostly-bullshit tabloid style news article pasted int he middle with some reaction wojacks and a bunch of edgelords in the comments.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (3 children)

that was just veiled conservative shit

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

PCM was funny for like 3 months then it turned into a fascist propaganda factory.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Agenda posts, all of them I want to make a community that's called poiticalpoliticalcompassmemesmemes Where you just take the pcm and invert it

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

You mean all the folks with a "liberal" tag spouting blatantly conservative, bigoted dogma?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

WhitePeopleTwitter. That sub seemed to do nothing but emanate lukewarm political takes or the worst humor imaginable - and reposted twitter screenshots are the lowest form of content

[–] 24Vindustrialdildo 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Very American to even segregate their internet spaces by skin colour.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, there's been some good posts on those subs but I hope there won't be a repeat of racially segregated Twitter subs.

I mean, I straight up don't want a Twitter curation community here at all, just let Twitter die already. But separating those subs by race was a particularly unfortunate choice.

[–] Kurros 12 points 1 year ago

Screenshots of Twitter posts. Shitty one-liner comments. TikTok reposts with insanely loud audio. It's just not the same anymore.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

CasualUK. The wanking off to the royal family and the British armed forces despite the "no politics" rule.

i dont think the king is particularly political

after all, i didn't vote for him

instead his bloodline was chosen by god to be better than anyone else, its only reasonable that people idolise a quasi-incestuous german family like deities

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago

end the bloodline

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

fuck /r/popping and when it would show up in the /r/all feed.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Yes. Definitely. I don't mind the sub but don't surprise with that crap on r/all.
