I suppose it is convenient if I don't want to drive and can afford the ticket price, but it isn't really any faster than driving. Their web site says about 2 hours to get from Orlando to West Palm. The drive is 2.5 hours. Once you factor in getting through security and having to wait for boarding and all that, driving is probably the faster option. It says Miami is 3.5 hours. The drive would be about 4 hours.

2 hours of driving required you to focus on the road. Or spend 2 hours on a train chilling, watching a movie, or working on a hobby/task. But yeah, I have to agree the ticket may be off-putting for some people. However, I would believe in the future, the railing would be upgrade to be faster or cheaper.

Once you factor in getting through security

What!? They're doing security theatre on trains in the US?

Only train security I've seen is eID-gates to London from Amsterdam and an IR temperature check back in 2021 on long distance trains.

[...] and having to wait for boarding and all that

You mean the part where you leasurely get a cup of coffee and walk to the train, or did they fuck up this comfort part too?
