Menopause

'Menopause isn't really that bad'...said no woman ever.

For those who are approaching or experiencing 'the change' (think reverse puberty), a time where hormone levels decline either through the aging process or by medical/surgical means.

Menopause and Perimenopause (the transitional time before Menopause) are unique to every person, and while there's no one-size fits all, we support each other on this roller coaster ride of wacked out hormones, absurd mood swings and random sweaty hot flashes.

Be kind. Be respectful. We are all in this together!

Menopause Wiki

Took me a hot minute but the server finally let me in. I am beyond excited to see you guys!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have a lot of hot minutes these days ...

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago

I've been introduced to the fresh hell that is hot flashes on top of having freezing cold feet. So now l have to wear as little on top but with a heavy blanket covering my feet at all time.

If you are, then that means so am I. :)

Also very confused.

Took me TWO DAYS just to be able to get through to join.

😆 I’m lost.

As soon as I got in, I searched “Menopause”, but need to spend some time exploring.

Learning new things is good for our brain and I get all that but also… 😩 ! (😂)

Yay, made it! Had to open up the computer to do it but yay!

thanks Lefty! I know it's a lot to wrap our heads around new things at times, but what's happening at Reddit is sad. So thanks for creating this space, may it flourish.

Yeeeeeees! I figured it out! Even managed to subscribe on my own! Thank you, the best admin person in the world, leftylibra for moving us here.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Congrats on figuring out how to subscribe - I’m at a total loss. Please share your secret!❤️

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

If you are accessing this site from your desktop browser, the subscribe button is the very top right of the sidebar (big green button that says subscribe). If you are accessing it through the Jerboa app, select the bullet list icon (in the bottom left of the toolbar) and enter "menopause" into the search field. Select menopause from the results and press the big blue subscribe button at the top. Hope this helps!

I was using lemmy.ml and menopause sub wasn't on it? SO I guess you have to add lemmy.world

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

When the accessing the website through your browser, the communities list defaults to your 'local' instance, click the ALL button to see communities from other instances, including lemmy.world. As a side note, lemmy.ml is completely overwhelmed, has disabled new user registration, and is experiencing random outages. This is one of the reasons why we did not include that instance in our list in r/menopause.

Yes you right super slow through lemmy.ml

Hi ladies! So glad we are still getting access to this resource - phew.

There’s a new subreddit for peri and menopause. It’s called r/menopausemavens

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yay! Made it! 😀

Hi Ladies! Took me a bit to figure out how to get on here, but relieved I finally did.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I think their servers might be a bit overloaded as people are joining...but glad you made it!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yay! I got it working too!
