I think we can all guess what this is. :(

I know he's been on IR for a long time and is likely to never play again...but still. He seems like the fun guy that lives next door and you could have a beer with - you don't have to drink it through your shirt, but he's in if you are.

And his comment about his dad during the interview after they won the Stanley Cup: "He doesn't remember much, but I'm sure he'll remember this."

The very brief interaction I've had with him (at season ticketholder night, while signing a jersey) left me thinking he's a great person.

My wife thinks it'd be odd to announce his retirement on the anniversary of the fountain swimming. But I don't know what else he'd be announcing.

I would not at all be surprised to find he gets a job with the team.
