Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November 18, 1985, to December 31, 1995. Commonly cited as "the last great newspaper comic",[2][3][4] Calvin and Hobbes has enjoyed broad and enduring popularity, influence, and academic and philosophical interest… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes

Love the term neurospicy. If I weren't to forget it in 5 minutes I'd probably claim to use it in the future

What does neurospicy mean? Am I neurospicy?

[–] Edge004@lemm.ee 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Neurospicy is an alternate term for neurodivergent

Thanks! TIL.

I haven't seen it, myself, but I've heard people mention that it has been used by some folks as a derogatory term for neurodivergent folks. 😔

Fuck them with cordless drill it's our term now

You might be on to something there...

Regardless, I really like this piece, it's adorably hilarious!

What does separating sandwich ingredients have to do with Susie's hunting skills?

[–] threelonmusketeers 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Where does the comic mention hunting skills?

"Nimrod" is the name of a Biblical king who was famed as a great hunter. It's also what Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny sarcastically called Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam to mock them for being incompetent hunters.

I don't eat sandwiches this way, but I do separate other mixed foods like trail mix, chow mein, fried rice, salads... does anyone else do this, or is it just me?

[–] suodrazah@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Foods must also be eaten in the correct order.

[–] threelonmusketeers 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The correct order being...? :)

Well it depends entirely on the meal. For example, pizza can be difficult. But usually least palatable to most. Typically arranged and eaten clockwise.
