In a new survey available to some, Google TV asks its users if they think the homescreen has too many ads.

Projectivy Launcher by Spocky.. for this very reason.

Projectivy was the last step to complete my ad-free Nvidia shield. Jellyfin and SmartTube developers are heros!

I actually still have ada with Twitch, I haven't found an alternative app yet, but haven't searched much as I rarely watch Twitch on TV.

Lmao, there were so many adds I switched to apps only mode ages ago. And they technically still advertise shit at the top, but only 3 things at a time and only pictures (for now?)

Same answer as to "Does Google TV have homescreen ads?"

If user need to roll back their android boxes to a previous android version then yes, there are too many ads.

I have not updated my google launcher and set google updates to manual for this exact reason on all my android box's.

For anyone that has a nvidia sheild, hers is a guide I used in how to downgraded your shield.

Currently I prefer the shield to the apple TV but if you compare the two... One has ads on the homescreen and the other doesn't.

I've not actually seen the kind of ads this describes on my Google tv. Wonder if it's a regional thing and this is only happening on America and maybe some other countries?

I just get a carousel of recommended content, not the more in your face ads that are referenced.
