Liminal spaces are the subject of an Internet aesthetic portraying empty or abandoned places that appear eerie, forlorn, and often surreal. Liminal spaces are commonly places of transition (pertaining to the concept of liminality) or of nostalgic appeal.

You’re 13, and you just got out of the hotel pool, trying to remember where your family’s hotel room is at. Dressed only in your swimsuit and maybe a towel, shivering from the air conditioning, leaving wet footprints behind on the low-pile carpet.

Oooooh, we used to dream of living in a corridor. It would have been a palace to us. We used to live in an old water tank on a rubbish heap.

I thought it looked a little like the hallways in the W Barcelona. Couldn't be further off lol.

I thought it was a render at first, it just looks so surreal in a way

OK, I'll bite - how did you not get reflected in the mirror at the end of the hallway?

I think I am very slightly, but it's hard to see cause I wasn't quite in the middle of the hallway so there's a slight angle that I made less noticible by cropping the picture a little bit so the window would appear more central in the frame.

Ah, the optical illusion approach. It's a sweet pic, thanks for sharing.
