Statistical urbanisation is ~80%. I'd rather say, apart from the primacy Paris with its own dimension, the French urban population might be quite decentralised.

as a swede i have to say some of these groupings are a bit odd, like "södra götaland" which makes no sense whatsoever neither in name nor in area, or having västra götaland stretch into jönköping municipality..

Yeah, this is true elsewhere too. Here in Austria, "Graz" is a region that contains most of the important parts of Styria (Steiermark), and "Steiermark" is one that contains mostly mountainous parts of what's now Styria plus most of Carinthia.
