I'm fine with after hours messages, zero issue. Hell, I may legitimately be needed. By the manager has to uphold their end and not abuse it. And they damned sure can't expect a response and I'm quitting if they mandate a response without "on call" or similar compensation. Sometimes I'll respond, sometimes I won't.

Ha, unfortunately the law only covers unreasonable calls. So if everything is broken and the dashboard are suddenly red it means you have to pick up.

And on call is a pittance, as long as the hours you work plus the hours on call don't get you less than hourly minimum wage good luck, because they can offer you like $1 to be 24x7 on call.

And that's WITH a union backing me. If you don't have a decent award this law won't mean much, and if you do it's the award doing what it's meant to.

Because it is being passed into law, so it is a new thing for Australians.
