I'm gonna tira-miss-u Roberto
As Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts, this is a huge loss. RIP
FMA? In my 196? It more likely than you think.
I swear, officer, I was trying to find a picture of the guy that invented a cake.
Hold up, it's only like 50 years old? WHAT?!?
How old did you think it was?
Idk, at least a century or two, was thinking more... I mean it isn't that difficult of a recipe. But I guess the same could be said about ketchup. Only around 200 years old, despite being technically possible way sooner.
Roberto, you left the world a better place. Thanks for the tiramisu, it's one of my favorite desserts. RIP
Hey, next Saturday I'm gonna teach my 9 year old niece how to make tiramisu (without alcohol and with decaf...), what a coincidence.
Seems rather like he didn't invent it
Obituaries for the restaurateur Ado Campeol (1928–2021) reported that it was invented at his restaurant Le Beccherie in Treviso on 24 December 1969 by his wife Alba di Pillo (1929–2021) and the pastry chef Roberto Linguanotto (1943–2024).[18][19][20] The dish was added to its menu in 1972.[21][22][23] According to Carminantonio Iannaccone, he created the tiramisu at his bakery, Le Beccherie, on 24 December 1969.[24]
I mean it does seem to imply that he did since you know... He was the pastry chef and this is a pastry. Though you know there is that other guy saying he did it first even though it's 3 v 1 and likely parallel creation would occur for something as simple as a deconstructed/reconstructed after dinner coffee dessert.
If the 3 are associated, thus inclined to push their narrative it doesn't change much that there are 3 of them, I'd say.
I only read the wiki article and it seems more plausible this (as most things?) was invented by countless little remixes.
Of course an "origin story" is also the more attractive narrative on the recieving side, since you know, people are used to and like stories with clear protagonists
RIP 🫡
