The Lyrics Game
Anybody can post a challenge.
The rules of the game are simple, take any song you like from any genre you want, put the lyrics through any AI [you may weight lyrics as the AI allows] that you want and post the resulting image here under the post title Name That Song [GENRE]. After 48-72 Hours or if the answer is guessed sooner, edit the post's title to [Solved][Genre] and put the song title and artist (and optionally any highlighted lyrics) in a spoiler tag in the body of the post.
Other than that, enjoy.
Here is a list to a few AI image generators you can use.
Oh! I know this one. American Pie by Don McLean.
Really?!
A difficult thing is that Lemmy's community are quite small, I see 300 subscribers. Add that, it's the kind of communauty where making a post takes time (Find a song, use a generator, see the results, repeat) and I wouldn't expect that much post with the current size of the c/ might evolve in the coming years/month.
Truth be told, There was plenty of activity and new subscribers daily. It suddenly stopped as if a wall was put up.
I think a guide to good generators to use in the sidebar would help. I've been having a good time guessing, but the free generators I stumble across are awful.
It might also help to have a guide to negative prompts that tend to be fruitful.
This would help. Especially since any time I wanna try this I have to go through the process of remembering which generator I used since I don't bookmark it.
There has been a sticky for over two weeks with 13. Didn't help. so that is not a valid excuse,
That list contains duplicates, and is a mix of crap generators and generators that require subscriptions of twenty or more bucks a month just to screw around. There is no indication of which are free and which are not. In addition, several of the free generators limit the length of the text prompt to the point that they won’t accept the entire string of lyrics. Given the community rules, those shouldn’t even be on the list.
If you want to see others contribute, make it as easy as possible to do so. Hence the suggestion for a list of "good" generators, not just a list of any old generator that comes up top ten on a generic google search.
The sticky also does not address negative prompt usage, which goes a long way to making anything like an identifiable image. You seem to have a handle on this based on your image output, so share what you know. Or don't, if you just want to bitch about it.
Also, consider the difference between an excuse and a suggestion. It is poor form to ask for advice and then throw the advice back in the face of a fan of your concept that takes the time to respond.
Try this: “There is a sticky that lists generators you can use. Did you happen to see it? Is there something missing from that sticky that would make it more useful to the community?”
I tried once, no one even tried to guess, I lost interest.
If I tried once and quit because nobody showed interest, this community wouldn't be here.
True enough, but you asked and I answered with my reason.
I tried, had no success, I moved on.
Been busy
