Except for having friends of every nationality, that's me too. I had conservative friends at one point, but after trump was elected I decided they were dangerously ill people and have since cut off all communication with them.

I have every right to be as discriminatory and picky as they are in choosing who I wish to hang around with.

There's nothing a conservative hates more than being judged by who they are as people. They think that tolerance means being a complete moral vacuum and accepting any sort of malevolence and violence. This is because they see people being tolerant of PoC, queer people and non-Christians and they also see membership in those categories as moral failings.

I have a friend who claims to be a "classical Liberal", which I thought was something to do with maritime trading regulations during the 1700s, but they'll talk about how much they love Jordan Peterson and all of these conservative thought leaders, and then I'll ask them "what about healthcare?" "what about social workers for disabled people?" "what about childcare subsidies when corporatism has made having a baby financially impossible?" "what about education? do you support free post-secondary education so that people can be as qualified as possible?"

Their answers generally align with Leftist values. Some people only think they're conservatives because the myth of fiscal responsibility and "common sense" is attractive to people who haven't taken a Civics course.

you can't tolerate intolerance. Don't burn bridges between you and members of your community. We're all being fucked by the oligarchs and the oligarchs want us to fight each other.
