Hi friends 🙏
Since spending far too much time on YouTube over Christmas and catching the SFF bug, I’ve been dead set on speccing a new gaming build in a Fractal Ridge. The thermals concern me.
With the practicalities and inherent setbacks of the case in mind I specced my first ITX build, including Ryzen 7600X on a B650 board. The plan was to try a Noctua L12S, keep the two 140 case fans up top, and run a 4070, or 6800 or 7800 XT depending on what I can find used.
I’ve since semi-fallen in love with the simplicity and convenience of an NR200P Max, and I’d love to know your thoughts on that vs the Ridge. I’ve had a 240mm AIO in my full-size build for years, and it’s always been fantastic. My thoughts are to try two 120x15 fans in the floor to encourage some airflow, if necessary, and otherwise build it as-is.
I’m sure common sense and lots of YouTube testing tells us the Cooler Master is capable of strikingly low and stable temps all things considered, but I just can’t quite shake the allure of the Ridge case’s aesthetic.
Compromises, compromises. As a gaming build my only concerns are noise and thermals. Any thoughts at all? Has anyone built in both? Thanks for your time.
Edit: I’m new to Reddit and have probably done the flair bit wrong, sorry.
