Your instance is defederated from lemmynsfw.com (scroll down to the bottom to see instances they are defederated from) so you won't see any contant after they defederated. You might want to create a different account just to browse NFSW communities on instance like lemmynsfw.com.
That’s kinda lame. Just like how Reddit blocked nsfw from all 3rd party apps instances can also block nsfw forcing you to find an instance that federates with nsfw. And at any point that instance can defederate forcing you to make a new account again? Sorry new to this lemmy stuff.
There are plenty of instances that allow it. It's just not all aminds want to deal with it as it requires extra moderation. It's a hobby project for most admins to host Lemmy. Read the sidebar of the instance where they typically have rules listed to see what content they allow and not.
That’s correct but it’s not like “reddit disallowing NSFW” because you can still access the content.
Hell, some Lemmy apps allow you to be logged into multiple accounts at once so you can just make an account on the instance that hosts the content your main instance blocks and see both of them.
