I created a community, Treasure Coast, Florida (!treasurecoastfl), on lemmy.world. I thought that users on other instances could find, read, and join. However, it never appears in search results initiated from other instances. Please explain.

Well, I just searched for it and found it on kbin.social and have subscribed to it - so, that seems to work. I'll now make a gratuitous comment in the top post comment I see ("Hello from kbin.social")

Edit - currentky showing up as empty on kbin, I'll give it some time to federate properly
