So why use Vlemmy? What makes it better than the rest in your opinion?

0 blocked instances and it's a smaller general instance so less technical issues.

This decentralization is both the strength of the lemiverse but also what worry's me right now. I've seen post on other instances asking for sh.itjust.works to be defederalized just because it doesn't block other harmful instances.

Beehaw did a similar thing where they defederalized themselves from other large instances.

I really hope it doesn't, but if this continues then we'll just be left with a bunch of tiny, pointless forums.

I expect it will settle down once admins have some way to block individual communities intead of whole instances. I understand them wanting to moderate their All feed, but the current approach harms users since it also affects Subscribed feed.

wait. so If sh.itjust.works for example blocks vlemmy, does this mean, we can't see content there as well?

You will, they won't see anything from vlemmy.
