For me it's been communities like /r/buildapc, /r/buildapcforme, /r/buildapcsales, /r/gamedeals, and /r/consoledeals have been useful throughout the years.

I'd like to see a community specifically dedicated to tabletop RPGs. Don't think I've seen one of those yet.

I’ve subscribed over to the rpg community on lemmy.ml so now Beehaw should be federated over to it for interacting with it.

Tabletop has what i see as 3 main variants which are rather separate communities:

  • RPGs
  • Boardgames
  • Wargames

Each has a gazillion little subdivisions, and there's related interests like miniature painting, terrain building, sculpting and others, but i guess a "tabletop" community would do until we grow more

For boardgames we have [email protected] which is pretty new but already has some fun threads. There is also [email protected] and [email protected] that are not as active yet.

Just... not D&D please. There are thousands of places on the internet to talk about D&D.

If it's represented with in equal proportions it's fine, but generally I agree. I haven't liked a lot of things about 5e, and don't find it interesting.

But thats the great thing about communities. Plenty of us like D&D. and do like seeing the posts.
