In an interview with Alaraby TV, Professor Cornel West, who is running for US president as a third-party candidate in 2024, described the ongoing situation in Gaza as "the greatest and most important moral test in the world today".

This statement was made during a demonstration in solidarity with Gaza, held on the sidelines of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

He stated that any individual with a minimal sense of ethics should recognise the magnitude of this catastrophe and advocate for intervention to stop it.

I have had a conversation with them in another thread about this. And i understand the want to vote third party, and defend people’s decision to do so, even if i still recommend otherwise, especially now it’s Harris over Biden.

But i asked them who they would vote for. They said Jill Stein of the green party, specifically because if they get enough votes they can secure funding. But this throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks is a bit of a mask off moment.

I can't even begin to comprehend how posting a video of something you agree with means you will vote for that person.

But actually. If you want to dig through my comment history you'll find I initially advocated for Cornel West many many months ago. But since Wests campaign turned out nowhere as organized and clearly far less popular, I've decided that compromising on Jill Stein would be a better option.

I don't mind compromising on candidates as long, as they're not committed to some insanity like Genocide.
