I haven't sat down to watch the trailer yet, but if this is basically The Division with a Star Wars skin, I won't be mad at it.

Isn't it more likely that it'll just be a Ubisoft open world game full of bloat?

Seems to have more actual story to it than the Division does at least from the trailer. I thought it was going to be Far Cry based and was then surprised to see the studio.

I don't know why people think Massive is somehow more independent than other Ubisoft studios. They've worked on both the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry games just like every other studio owned by Ubisoft.

I honestly have no idea how independent the various studios are.

Typically they have one main studio leading a project that's being supported by half a dozen of their other studios. That's why they were able to churn out Assassin's Creed games annually. Massive did support work on AC: Revelations and Far Cry 3 before they got their own project with The Division.

Obviously now that they're leading two huge projects with Avatar and Outlaws, they are getting a ton of support from other Ubisoft studios.
