This is cool, but where does the carbon monoxide go?
It looks for the label “smoke vent”, and follows the arrow
But seriously, there’s a good point that they’re expecting this to be covered with snow, and that’s probably critical to weather-sealing and insulating it, but why wouldn’t the vent also get covered?
Maybe they need to clear it off frequently? It also looks like the vent is just a hole in this image though, so nothing for snow to land in.
Same place as the smoke from a woodstove, it's sucked out by the chimney effect.
Maybe a fireplace is a better example, since a wood stove is more sealed off from the room it's in. I'll have to read about the chimney effect.
