Why would you expect a leftist community to not criticise a liberal politician? There are obvious ideological clashes between the two.
They’re not leftists, they’re fascists who use cry-bullying to lambast anyone who is against gulags.
I know this because I’m a leftist — I want the billionaire class destroyed at the atomic level. But I want these things because I value freedom, not the opposite.
All authoritarians are natural allies, and hexabears are utterly disconnected from reality, frothing at the mouth for violence — against whom? They don’t even fucking know.
These fuckers literally sign off “death to America” on half their posts, possibly unaware that countries don’t even exist (so how would you kill them?) — meaning they're calling for the deaths of mixed communities of people with variegated opinions who’re already fighting the system as best they can. It doesn’t make any fucking sense.
I was very susceptible to such groups when I was younger, I realize now that it's simply easier to be against everything than it is to have real convictions. If we acknowledge a solution exists that requires sacrifice and hardwork then we're kinda stuck having to get involved in it...
If we can imagine ourselves outside and above society we can claim our 'work' is more important even if all we're doing is exactly the things we enjoy like arguing online, playing with guns, going to protests, etc, etc. We're fighting against a huge and powerful evil so like of course we haven't got a proper job that would be supporting the machine!
Conspiracy obsessives on the left and right may say different things but their lifestyles are incredibly similar, they'll find endless excuses to dismiss the idea of being involved in anything constructive while role-playing as heros in a good vs evil battle that coincidentally requires them to live out their fantasies...
Lots of the hexbears seem to be for eliminating the existing billionaires, so they can take their place. It also seems to be a big part of the crypto scene. As opposed to the MAGAts that think they will magically join the Billionaires if they elect those assholes.
Where on Earth did you concoct this fanfiction?
Why tie Hexbear, a firmly anti-crypto instance, with crypto?
MAGA is typically composed of Petite Bourgeoisie, ie small business owners and the like, that stand to increase profit margins via lower taxation, as well as socially conservative people. That's why fascism is rising in the GOP, as fascism is a class-collaborative ideology surrounding petite bougeoisie and bourgeoisie allignment against the proletariat.
Lol @ countries don’t exist. Death to America means death to its institutions and structures because they’re all inherently racist and imperialist and uphold class inequality.
For the non terminally online "Death to America" rhymes with "Death to Americans". If that's your goal, cool. If it isn't your goal then your message is being lost on the people you wish to mobilize
I don’t really get your logic, tea rhymes with pee but I drink the former and not the latter. Both sentences have very different meanings. If you don’t understand what a sentence means then you just can ask. Also hexbear isn’t intended to mobilise anyone, it’s just a space where leftists can talk about life & politics freely.
I'm not sure if you are being obtuse or genuine. I'm just going to stick with have a nice day.
Being firmly left does not mean they are fascists.
What makes you think people on Hexbear don't want abolition of Capitalism for more freedom?
Hexbear is made up of Revolutionary Socialists, of various types. They want overthrow of the Bourgeoisie, starting with Imperialism.
Signing "Death to America" refers to the American State and its institutions. America is the largest Imperialist force in the world, currently, ergo they oppose it entirely. They are not calling for the murder of random citizens, this is libel.
This sounds wrong. [email protected] has completely different views to Hexbear.
Its not that they criticise libs, its that they criticism everything and everyone. There is nothing that brings them joy other than being mad on the internet. You ask what they do like and they recoil in terror.
I actually see a lot of joy on hexbear especially in the trans community there :)
Living in a society as racist, classist and just plain cruel as the West can be very demoralising though so I don’t blame people for being doomerish about it. However the comments on Harris are mostly just funny jokes so I think I don’t really agree with your assessment.
I think that is true of many online trans communities. The ones I've brushed up against are very supportive of their members with varied reactions to people who are not members of the community. Obviously based on that non-group member's behavior.
I have never found this to be true, you can ask anyone on Hexbear what they want and they will tell you.
Hell, [email protected] is the most pleasant place to discuss gaming on Lemmy IMO.
You may be right. I can't see myself going there to find out.
It's my personal experience, I go there frequently. It's nice not having constant liberalism, and the non-political communities are very active and pleasant if you post there.
This is exactly it right here. Everything comes with a little kick or elite dig. "What YOU peasants participate in is below my delicate sensibilities."
What? No, it isn't elitism. I assume you don't want to be in spaces dominated by conservative voices and transphobia, correct? Same concept.
