I’m in need of a usb ethernet adapter that is gigabit capable that hopefully won’t cost an arm and a leg. I’ve tried two so far that are listed as gigabit but they have turned out to be only 100mb and i can’t just install a pcie nic because I’m on a mini itx board hence posting here

Planning my build for this case and I would like to use this gpu, but my concern is how does it fit? It's flagging as incompatible on pcpartspicker yet I've seen others posting builds of it. Is pcpartspicker just wrong or is there something you need to do in order to get it to work?

Heyo, so I have been striving for the single cable solution for a while now. With my current combination I have made it happen.

2070 super fe (has a usb c port), and gigabyte monitor with usb hub and usb c

However, If I upgrade my 2070 super to a new card, which I understand nobody has a usb c port on them anymore, what is necessary to gain this single cable functionality again?

Hi folks,

I'm thinking about building the smallest powerhouse I can put on my desk.

I'm more than OK to build custom loop to water cool the cpu (Ryzen 7 7700X or 7800X3D) and gpu (4070ish tier Idk yet) and use an external radiator mounted under the tabletop (I know many consider it "cheating", I don't want to travel with this pc or show it off. I just want it to be small on my desk and not too loud and I think the external radiator provides these and I'm OK with its drawbacks).

If needed I'm also not against some kind of external PSU given there is any which could power a PC with this draw.

I don't need any drive mounts, a single Nvme ssd on the motherboard is enough for me.

What kind of cases I could use? I'm OK if I need to mod the water loop connectors on the case, I'm not afraid of hacking something together :D

Thanks.

Man, I was looking for a case like that for so freaking long!

I wanted to build a small form factor with a non fe 4090 and no crazy water cooling.

It looks like it will be possible!

Have just ordered the 7800x3D for my SFF build that will go in a fractal design terra case.

After ordering I realise that the 7900x is reduced in price, that it's actually cheaper than the 7800x3D. For the kind of work I do with my PC it's a no brsiner, the 7900x would be the much better choice on specs alone.

What I want to ask is how much of a world of hurt is attempting to run this higher wattage, hotter running CPU in a small case that will rely solely on a low profile axp120-x67 CPU fan and a single exhaust fan. Stability is my overriding factor, I'd sooner just take the potential performance hit for a more stable experience...and I do think that either CPU will be sufficient.

I just think when I'm processing lots of data when multitasking, running vms in a lab environment - the extra cores are gonna be beneficial. I don't play many games.

Just most importantly, I don't want to deal with throttling or any stability issues. I think probably going full 170w is probably a heat problem too far for the cooling setup I'll be using, but there's no exact science to read when googling 🤔

Please help me on this one, I have two separate PCs

First build: • Ryzen 5 7600 • MSI B650i Edge Wifi • Corsair 6000mhz 32gb • GTX 1660TI • SF750 Platinum PSU

Second Build: • Ryzen 5 5600x • Gigabyte B450m Ds3 • Corsair 3200mhz 8x2gb • RTX 3070 Gigabyte • Segotep 750w Gold PSU

Both GPUs are connected directly to the PCIE slot, no riser cables. CSM mode is disabled for both build. Updated bios for both builds. Both power supply are working well. Separate 6+2 cables are used for the RTX 3070 (not daisy chained)

Scenario: ✓ 1st test: Plugging my RTX 3070 on my "first build" won't boot, but testing it out with the 1660ti works well and boots into windows.

✓ 2nd test: Plugging my RTX 3070 on my "second build" boots to windows with no problem.

✓ 3rd test: Ruled out the PSU for the "first build", I got my SEGOTEP PSU and tested it out on the first build and no boot with the RTX 3070 • It booted with the 1660ti

✓ 4th test: Got my SF 750 Platinum PSU and tested it on the second build with the RTX 3070 and it boots with no problem

✓ My main problem now is the Black Screen / No Post / No Signal / Cant Boot into BIOS & Windows when using the RTX 3070 on the "first build" but using other GPU works

Hello recently upgraded gpu from a rx 570 to rx 6600 xt that is a big upgrade but in all games like valorant fortnite apex cs2 i get same fucking fps because i think the games are cpu intensive so now i wanna upgrade my cpu for a big fps improvent because i want higher fps and higher 0.1 / 1% fps my budget is 200$ but if it would really make a big difference i would maybe wanna spent a 100 more for a 5800x3d but first im suggesting between a 5800x but i dont know because i know 5800x3d is way better what should i do also the 5700x3d is coming out soon in a few days/ weeks its gonna get on the market should i get that one instead of 5800x3d because a bit cheaper and new or should i get then 5800x3d my current rig is idk if i should also if i upgrade my cpu maybe the ram and if i would get then a new cpu upgrade i will get way higher fps right? also after the cpu upgrade i can use sam now i cant use it.

please help thank you!!!

CPU : ryzen 7 2700 3.2Ghz stock i oc to 3.75Ghz

MOBO : B450 DS3H

RAM : 2x8 G.skill Ripjaws 3200mhz i use 2933 because thats the max my cpu can hold

PSU : CX500

GPU : RX 6600 XT OC my mobo does only have PCIE gen 3 x 8 but i dont think it is the problem that i wont see bigger fps boost after the gpu upgrade

While it kinda should because on benchmark like 3dmark i get more then 3x the benchmark score then the rx 570 4gb but i dont fucking understand it

i would like a 13600k and pro art 4080, trying to see which Thermalright cpu cooler would fit. i see people use the axp90 and axp120.

i dont think the 120 fits with a 4080, the 90 should but not sure if the 47 full copper or 53 nickle one is better fit.

Looking for a 4070Ti S or 4080S card for my NZXT H1 V2.

Given the smaller size of the Proart I’m a bit worried about thermals especially in this case. I would certainly be undervolting.

Can’t find many reviews for the non super 40 series cards.

Hello fellow sffpc enthusiasts.

I built my current sffpc just over 12 months ago (component list provided at the bottom of the post). Everything about it was working like a dream until just before the New Year when the AIO started making a constant ticking sound and, shortly afterwards, the sound of rushing water. CPU temps began soaring to >100c within 10 mins of turning on with no change in load.

I scoured the internet and tried all the suggestions I could find:

  • checking for vibration from the pipes
  • checking fans were working properly
  • moving rad around to shift air bubbles
  • reseating pump on CPU with new thermal paste

Suffice to say, nothing worked. I contacted EKWB and provided details and videos of the issue. Customer support were great and sent out a replacement quickly (the product was still within warranty).

I installed the new AIO on arrival, it was quiet as a mouse but continued to have the same issue with CPU temps flying into the sky like Icarus after 15 mins. It didn't seem right that a brand new AIO should be having exactly the same issue so I took it out and tried installing the stock AMD air cooler that came with the Ryzen, just to see what would happen. Lo and behold, my beloved sffpc was still running several hours later. I am writing this post on it now, 2 days later, and haven't seen temps go above 65c (albeit just web browsing/youtube so far).

I am glad that I have managed to get it working again, however, CPU temps are now higher than I would like. The stock cooler is keeping CPU between 50-60c when idle (e.g. PC on but not being used, CPU usage steady at 10% - seems high but that's for another post maybe), this is about 5-10 degrees higher than when I had the AIO installed and I'm not confident that it will manage to stay in an acceptable range when I get the courage to start up a game again.

Clearly the first AIO had an issue, as the ticking/water sound and failure to keep the CPU cool indicated. I accept that. But it seems like it would be very bad luck for the new AIO to just happen to be faulty in having the same problem to cool the CPU as the old one (especially when it seems to be running, I can hear the pump on the new AIO faintly when I put my ear to it and on the old one it would have to be running for me to hear the rushing water/ticking sound). This also leads me to suspect that there is not an issue with the AIO_PUMP header (another thought I had earlier on)

My question is this: is there something I might have missed that could be causing the AIO to not cool properly? should I try and replace the AIO cooler (either give EKWB another shot to replace or try a different brand)? or should I upgrade the stock air cooler to something better (I've heard good things about the Big Shuriken 3 Rev B, especially with Noctua NF A12s swapped in). I'm not bothered about the aesthetics as it currently sits under my desk (no room to show it off at the moment). Would really appreciate any input from the esteemed members of this community.

Please help me sffpc, you're my only hope!

Cross posting from r/PcBuild, since I haven’t got any answers.

I've decided to squeeze MSI 4090 Gaming X Slim into Corsair 2000D case. The card itself fits perfectly but during the test fit I've noticed, that I won't be able to fit the Nvidia 12VHPWR adapter with closed side panel without bending it a lot. I think I've done enough research about what makes the 12VHPWR melt sometimes (ended with Gamer Nexus series about this problem), so even somehow I would bend it enough to fit in the case I wouldn't feel safe with it.

So I'm looking for a 180 deg adapter that will do the trick for me. My firs thought was CableMod, but both 1.0 and 1.1 were recalled due to melting hazard... Even if I would like to give it a try is not available anymore. My second thought was Corsair and it's PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR GPU Power Bridge but looks like it won't be compatible with my GPU (the compatibility list is a mess but I've asked on r/Corsair and got info it won't work. Just to prove that I will be able to squeeze the adapter itself, just for now I've ordered this CERRXIAN 12VHPWR adapter from Amazon, but since kind of no-name brand I will hesitate to run it long term.

Is there any other adapter form reputable brand (if possible) that anyone can recommend? Or maybe I shouldn't worry about the CERRXIAN adapter I've ordered and just use it? All tips and recommendations will be appreciated.

Why not a dedicated PSU cable with 90 degree plug? Because I will also have 360 mm AIO very close to it the 90 degree adapter/cable is not a solution for me either. I know that the "easy" solution would be to pick up a bigger case or maybe 280mm AIO instead of 360 to make room for a angled cable but I would strongly prefer to keep them both

doing this build with meshroom d

just doing a parts check and checking down the PSU.

questions.

  1. has anyone attempted an inverted build with this case?
  2. PSU options. I know I have a few options for psu: SFX / ATX right side (140mm) / ATX left side 160mm) so from this list what can I go with?
    1. SFX (SF750 / SF600 / FSP dagger Pro
    2. ATX right side (EVGA supernova G7 / Corsair RM650 / MSI mag a650gl / Silverstone strider / fsp hydro PTM X Pro Gen 5)
    3. ATX left side ( Superflower leadex III 650w / supernova P5 )

So when it comes to PSU's I'm not sure if it really matters between gold / platinum. If platinum doesn't matter then it just comes down to size.

The reason I'm on the fence about SF750 / SF600 / Dagger pro is price.

I'm late to jump on the sffpc game because I just haven't actually needed to upgrade in a long time. Getting into it now, I'm a little late to the game and it seems like I've missed some good case opportunities. I'd really like to stick with lian li (my mid tower has done almost 20 years of good service), but I've got my heart set on a q58, and can't find one on the market anywhere.

Now I've come across a prebuilt q58, equipped with a gtx 3070 gpu, 5600X cpu, X470 board, and 16GB of ddr4 3200. From a seemingly reputable seller.

It's not quite the power I was planning, but it is about $500 cheaper than my planned GTX 4060, i5-13600, B760 build.

Worth spending the extra on current gen equipment? Is there enough of a benefit to warrent passing up a case I want and a $500 discount on a $1400 build? That and actually getting to call the build mine by rights.

I haven't upgraded for 7 or 8 years (maybe more?) now, so obviously either would be a huge improvement. Lead contender for an alternate case right now would be a Meshroom S.

I have this portable monitor I wanted to add to my setup and can't find sort of way of mounting it since it doesn't have any holes. Is there any sort of magnetic mount that I can put on the back without damaging the monitor and can be put on a monitor mount?
