Is there a public api to get a direct download / stream link for a movie or show; like to get the direct file?

First time poster along with first time user ? I recently got an iPod and my father taught me how to burn cds to iTunes and my external hard drive and then put them onto my iPod. This has been working splendidly especially since i have a library card and can check out as many cds as i want and download them this way. My question is, is there a way to do this with DVDs? This journey started because my husband and I canceled our Internet account because we were paying 70-80/m for shitty cox Internet. It’s the only company that services our complex so it was our only option. We hated it and honestly we rarely actually used the internet because it never worked so we canceled it. Now we’ve switched over to cds and DVDs but I wanted an iPod to keep more music without having thousands of cds. The reason why this cd burning method works so well for me is because I can do it at home without internet. Is there a similar method I can use for DVDs? I went to the library and downloaded itunes and set up my iPod so I could take it all home and do the cd method there (I don’t think the library will appreciate knowing my plans) and it worked well. Is there a similar method I can use for DVDs to burn them onto my external hard drive without any type of internet once I download the initial program?

Hi,

While I was looking for BIOS files for Emudeck I've stumbled upon THIS thread posted here - unfortunately it got deleted. This seems like ideal solution for me. Did anyone here got that link to the whole pack? Would you like to share it with me?

Some time ago laws were made against the distribution of stuff like films, or sport streams, but that's not what i care about, I only found torrenting options and not direct downloads, so I was looking up how to setup qbittorrent, i read that in Germany and the US you need a VPN and was wondering if it was the same for Italy, btw if necessary any advice on what vpn to use? considering that i'm a jobless teen

New here. I was trying to figure out how to get into libgen today (had to finally use TOR) and discovered z-library. Is it safe to use on FF with all the usual precautions, or should I use Tor just to be on the safe side? I already use Proton free vpn, but is that enough?

Amazon is stopping download to USB on 2/26 and everybody is freaking out. I know nothing about de-DRM or any of that, because I've only ever gotten free books from them. I read everything on Calibre. Are the epub versions of Amazon books on libgen and Z-library already de-drm'ed or do I have to do something with them now to be able to read them on Calibre?

Thanks for any help. It's getting harder and harder to get anything for free anymore. :(

Looks like now in Greece there will be fines starting today for us who torrent and stream? how does the streaming part even work? Does it mean I will have to use a VPN absolutely everywhere for piracy? Even direct downloads?

So around 10-15 years ago I had loads of local media, mainly from torrent.

Since then I had a brain injury and had loads of recovery and now I fancy giving jellyfin a try.

Problem is about 4-5 years ago my Mac’s hdd died and I didn’t have a backup so I lost all my media. I now know to backup!

Where does everyone get their local media from nowadays? I’d like as good quality as I can get and I’d probably get or make a nas, if anyone has better options please let me know!

I watch all my media on an Apple TV, so if I do have to stream something which would work without using airplay please!

Just wondering what the best approach is? I have a vpn so that’s no problem.

What does everyone think?

There are tons of video downloader apps on Google Play store that give an option to download a video that is currently playing on a website.

Are there any MP3 equivalent apps that can download something like an audio book that is currently playing on a site and give an option to download it? Every MP3 app I find on the store is only for downloading Music or converting YouTube videos to MP3s.

Yesterday, I watched the IND vs PAK cricket match using the "other" way, as I didn't feel like paying for 3 months of Hotstar (they didn't have the option for paying for a monthly subscription, and after Champions Trophy, it would have gone to waste), and guess what, I got a significantly better experience, minus the occasional buffering. The stream was actually of a higher quality, and there were very few commercials (many times, not a single advert) on the streams I watched (one of them was "Sky Sport 1" from New Zealand I guess).

Growing up, I always wondered what actually happened between overs, when the greedy broadcasters showed us ads. All in all, a free service is seemingly offering a much better quality than paid subscriptions.

In the early 2024, for a few months, I was using RealDebrid and it was good. I haven't used a debrid service since but I am looking to start using one again, because my country (Greece) is now making all piracy illegal.

From my research I saw that a couple of months ago RD strengthened it's anti-piracy measures but I see people saying it is now working again. I have also read about TorBox which was encountering some buffering issues that, according to what I have read, have been resolved.

Prices are the same, features are the same, however RD is located in France which has stronger anti-piracy laws than South Africa.

From your experience and knowledge, which one is the best? I am going to be honest, TorBox's website has me hooked but my decision shouldn't be made solely on that.

Additionally, I don't use torrents except for Streamio+Torrentio, direct downloads from steamrip or mkvcinamas shouldn't be a problem right?

Basically, I've been downloading all my stuff via VM's, but at least Win10 VM's on a fairly powerful rig with OracleVirtualBox and with their own dedicated SSD's just don't offer the performance I need. VM's constantly lose connection, freeze or just hang up for tens of minutes or until restart. As far as I can tell, it's a problem specifically with OracleVM, but I'm sort of just tired of testing various configs, so lately I've been thinking about a dedicated PC for just torrenting, preferably one with Ubuntu.

Specifically talking about somewhat low-power PC's, maybe small form factor, running off of Ubuntu on SSD's as main OS, and pumping downloads into external hard drives. Possibly with the ability to remote into the machine from main PC, maybe connecting to home group for easy data share.

Has anyone setup dedicated torrenting machines and can share the experience or have some advice?

I've heard that in the United States and Europe, using VPNs is mandatory in some places. Is that true, or is it just marketing from VPN companies?

In my country, some time ago, the owners of one piracy website were jailed for a while. But considering the money they made and how little time they actually spent in jail, I doubt it made their lives much harder.

Overall, I think this is a pretty minor issue when it comes to the priorities of the police, judicial systems, and so on.

I remember a case from over ten years ago where a woman was fined a large amount for downloading around ten songs. It seemed like they wanted to set an example to discourage others from doing the same. But in the end, it didn’t seem to matter much, since nothing similar happened afterward.

Usually, when cases like this come up, there are personal reasons behind them. For example, with those website owners, maybe someone they knew had a falling-out with them and decided to file a complaint just to stir things up. But generally, it’s not something that gets much attention.

Personally, I think making access to certain things more democratic is a good thing. Whether an artist makes a few million more or less because of it doesn’t seem like a big deal to me. In fact, just as the internet and piracy have supposedly "harmed" them, these same factors have also helped them become more well-known and benefited them.

So this may not be entirely relevant to this sub but I feel if anyones going to know the answer it is you guys and gals.

Basically I want to stop ads from popping up on free applications on my android. E.g. finish a round of a game and immediately an ad pops up for another game that has a rime limit of like 20 seconds before you can press the "X" but then it usually cuts to another screen where you have to press the "X" again.

Half the time, my fat thumbs miss the "X" and I get taken to the app store.

Is there anyway to stop this?

I stumbled upon P stream via FMHY. Whilst the site itself has no issues and will stream okayishly, it pushes users to install an extension for higher quality streams. The extension is published on Mozilla Add on store but has hardly much users. Curiously, it has the permission called Access Data on All Sites.

I removed it soon after since browser extensions can be a malicious attack vector. Has anyone used this site? It was linked to as a trusted alternative on the movie-web domain listed at top of FMHY [Free Movie Heck Yeah].

I want to rant about issues with Amazon recently. I just got a new Kindle Paperwhite 11 and I wanted to experience the true Kindle experience. I purchased a few books with VPN since my country have some problem with Amazon Kindle. Lol and Behold they suspended my account after I purchase 30$ worth of books and after providing whatever documents they requested. They are now closing it down. Now I have to charge back via my bank. Before that, I was pirating books on Kindle 5th gen for 7 years and had no issues.

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to get my hand on a Korean documentary it is well known, not that obscure. However, I can’t seem to find it on my two usual torrent sites (TPB and YGG), do you guys know where I could be more lucky ? I tried the qbittorent search engine as well as Torrentz

Thanks in advance

I do not own a high ress tv and grew up watching movies using my PC, and I still do. I will probably end up with a 2k monitor soon-ish, but until then I aim at around min 1080p 10GB.

Edit: auto correct, I meant to say not own a high res tv

Edit 2: I meant drawing the line both ways, I should have made that clear.
